Key pass

Key pass
A pass to a teammate who is in a goal-scoring position (e.g., a one-on-one situation, empty net, etc.), or a pass that bypasses the entire defensive line of the opposing team (3 or more players) during an attacking phase. A key pass is usually a vertical pass, though it can occasionally be horizontal. A key pass intercepted by an opponent is still recorded, but not as an accurate one.
